space. . .
Random Fact: if you were to remove all the space from all the humans in all the world all you would be left with would be dense cube of matter the size of a sugar cube. All the rest is

In yoga we look for space. Space in our bodies as we release tension, space in our minds to shift our thoughts, our mindset, space to still the mind, space to open the heart. . .
Matter is an illusion. Matter is really energy and energy can be transformed.
We cling so tightly to the things in our lives. The labels, the categorizations, the beliefs we have about ourselves, our opinions, our jobs, our successes, our failures, and the THINGS. None of these define us, yet we cling so tightly. We believe we need to grasp and hold on to make it real, but we are not any of these things. We are deeper, more profound, than any of these definitions. Just as it is nearly impossible to translate poetry from its original language and truly honour the subtle nuances, so too is it impossible to truly label our deepest Self. Those friends we have had since childhood love us for who we ARE, not for the job we now have, the clothes, the house, the . . . They love us for our TRUE spirit.
We can begin to tap back into this place of Truth within us through finding moments of stillness and by looking inward for space. The breath can be symbolic of this space. We can connect to our breath. Allow ourselves to just stop. To let go the fluctuations of the mind and just be with the breath. As we begin to find stillness, we find space, the thoughts settle, and we start to see more clearly to the depths of our being.
Knowing we are made of mostly space makes it almost easier to start to visualize these concepts. Knowing we are so little density and so much space, so much energy allows us to see our true potential for growth and transformation and connection to that deepest Self
